FAQ

W.O.W. 2023 Fequently Asked Questions

WHEN IS THE EVENT?

August 26th and August 27th, 2023. Flying will take place daily with each days flying schedules happening at the same time. Saturday, August 26th, flying will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Sunday, August 27th, flying will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM.

WHERE IS THE EVENT?

In collaboration with the Municipality of Leamington, Ontario, Wings Over Windsor is proud to present our 2023 Beach Edition hosted at the beautiful Seacliff Beach. Both days Seacliff Beach will be restricted to guests who purchase their tickets in advance. See Show Map here.

WHEN WILL THE PERFORMER SCHEDULE BE AVAILABLE?

Aviation and non-aviation performers will be confirmed to the public via our social media channels, email press releases and updates to our website pages. Stay updated on all our media platforms for the quickest news on Wings Over Windsor Beach Edition!

ARE TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR THE EVENT?

Yes! We have general admission tickets, including access to our primary guest area on Seacliff Beach. All tickets include access to washroom facilities, the vendor and merchandize park, and other amenities available on-site. The vendor and merchandise park will host plenty of food options, a splash pad, local vendors, and displays plus lots of shade. The beach is available to set up your family and friends with prime viewing for all activities on the water and in the air. Our vendor and merchandise park is just a short 2–3-minute walk from the sand!

Seacliff Beach is truly the place to be August 26-27th weekend and we cannot wait to host you.

WHERE DO I PARK

Wings Over Windsor Beach Edition is featuring a park and shuttle option for our guests. This means, finding a W.O.W. reserved parking lot close to you in the Municipality of Leamington, parking your vehicle, and simply letting our shuttle bus system get you safely to and from the primary guest area at Seacliff Beach. Avoid the traffic, save the gas money, and let us take care of your travel!

Available parking lots and additional information on our park and shuttle service will be available in 2023. Public transport options will also be available and we will communicate in early 2023.

IS THE EVENT ACCESSIBLE?

Short answer, of course. Wings Over Windsor Beach Edition will communicate further information on accessibility options sometime in early 2023!

ARE BOTH DAYS OF THE EVENT ON THE SAME SCHEDULE?

Both days will feature very similar schedules, however, like anything our aviation and non-aviation performances are always subject to change due to many factors. We will publish a schedule to our guests on our website and social media prior to the event start and advise of any changes in a timely manner!

CAN YOU WATCH FROM THE WATER?

Absolutely! We would like to note that during the show days Saturday, August 26th between the hours of 1:00PM to 3:30PM, and Sunday, August 27th, between 1:00PM to 3:30PM, Wings Over Windsor will enforce a “sterile aerobatic box” in the water that is marked with buoys. That area is where aircraft will maneuver and perform their aerobatics.

Further, a marine exclusion zone will be instituted and monitored to ensure that no vessels can enter the “sterile aerobatic box”.

Swimmers at Seacliff Beach should expect to only have access to water roughly waist deep during the same closure times. Boaters should refer to marine notices for further information prior to getting out on the water.

ARE PETS ALLOWED AT THE EVENT?

Unfortunately, Wings Over Windsor will not allow the entry of pets to Seacliff Beach due to the nature of the show and our organizational policies. With loud noises and large crowds, we don’t encourage bringing your pet to the waterfront. Service animals will be allowed entry to the primary guest area at the Beach.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

The golden question! Wings Over Windsor recommends all guests attending the Beach Edition air show in the primary guest area bring the following items: lawn chairs or beach chairs, hat, sunglasses, comfortable shoes (or flip flops), sunscreen, refillable water bottle and cashless payment options such as debit or credit. We will update this section with other recommendations over time!

A list of prohibited items will be available on our FAQ page in early 2023.

ARE WE COMPLIANT WITH COVID-19 GUIDELINES?

Wings Over Windsor is fully compliant with all mandated federal, provincial, and municipal public health requirements.

WHAT DO WE DO IF IT RAINS?

Wings Over Windsor Beach Edition will proceed rain or shine as long as we meet the minimum safety criteria to perform. If active weather poses a risk to the event entertainment program, performances may be delayed, modified, or suspended. Tickets are non-refundable and further information would be communicated to guests as soon as possible.

CAN I HEAR AIR SHOW NARRATION/ANNOUNCING?

Yes! Only if you are a guest in our primary guest area at Seacliff Beach will you be able to hear our full narration and music program. We highly recommend this option as narration will help enhance the full experience of the event.

ARE FOOD AND DRINKS AVAILABLE?

Yes! Only inside our primary guest area at Seacliff Beach will vendors be available to satisfy all those cravings. Our vendor and merchandise park will be open during show hours for our guests to get out of the heat, enjoy some food and refreshments and visit the many booths on display.

WHERE DO THE PLANES FLY IN FROM?

All aircraft performing at Wings Over Windsor Beach Edition will take off and land at local airports in the Essex-County region OR airports in the United States of America in special circumstances. All flights are in accordance with regulations put forth by governing aviation bodies.

WHAT MEDICAL SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE?

Wings Over Windsor takes safety as a top priority. Our organization will have first aid stations for minor medical concerns around the primary guest area. Furthermore, local paramedics will be present in the event life support is required.

WHAT IS YOUR STRATEGY TO REDUCE NOISE IMPACTS?

It’s no secret that air shows can be noisy. We won’t pretend they’re not. Wings Over Windsor has placed the air show times in a strategic part of the day so as to not disrupt late evening or early morning activities. We recognize the impact large-scale events have on the community and we will not forget that in our planning process.

If you would like to contact our team about community impacts as it relates to noise, please email us at info@wingsoverwindsor.com
